WHO YOU ARE

You are a devoted and enthusiastic School Psychologist who partners with various districts to provide a full range of school psychology services to children ages birth to twenty-one, including screening and assessment, designing remedial education programs, individual and group counseling and functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team to determine the student’s eligibility for special services, appropriate programming, and on-going progress in school-based environment.



WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Screening - Conduct extensive psychological examination of referred children including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, observations, and writing reports which state the evaluation findings, and provide for educational programs.

  • Evaluation - Ensure that student progress is evaluated on a regular, systematic basis and that findings are used in making decisions to improve program effectiveness as it relates to specific student needs.

  • Consulting - Provide consultative services to school personnel and parents.

  • Communication - Function as a liaison between the school and family in the student assessment and interpretation of test results.

  • Counseling - Counsel individually and in-group format with the special education qualified students.

  • Collaboration - Participate as a team/group member in such programs as suicide prevention, crisis management, social learning, mediation, and outdoor education.

  • Education - Maintain a working knowledge of district curricula and instructional strategies.

  • Innovation - Encourage the development and piloting of unique programs.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology or related degree field

  • School Psychology Certification

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental delays


Clearances & Training Required

  • Act 33 PA Child Abuse History Clearance

  • Act 34 PA State Criminal History Clearance

  • Act 114 FBI Clearance issued by the Dept of Education

  • Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate

  • Act 168 from Previous Employers where you came into contact with children

  • State License of Practice and/or Certification

  • CPR/First Aid

  • TB/Physical
