WHO YOU ARE
You are a determined and innovative Elementary & Secondary Special Education Teacher who is responsible for the development and implementation of individual elementary level programming for each student in conjunction with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Classroom Management - Provide 1:1 behavioral, emotional, life skills, or academic support and remediation for students in the classroom
Documentation - Complete Extended School Year (ESY) determinations and progress monitoring data collection for all students on caseload
Compliance - Uphold the education, operation, and facility standards set by Hope Academy and the Pennsylvania Department of Education
External Communication - Write and maintain student progress notes and reports, as well as information for parents and other staff
Collaboration - Collaborate with administration, teachers, therapists, families, and other external stakeholders to improve service delivery effectiveness
Other responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or other related degree field
Pennsylvania Special Education Training certification
Experience working with individuals with developmental delays
Clearances & Training Required
Act 33 PA Child Abuse History Clearance
Act 34 PA State Criminal History Clearance
Act 114 FBI Clearance issued by the Dept of Education
Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
Act 168 from Previous Employers where you came into contact with children
State License of Practice and/or Certification
CPR/First Aid
TB/Physical
