Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest quality of food handling and preparation.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of shortages.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Utilize various kitchen tools and equipment safely, including knives and cooking appliances.
- Participate in menu development by providing input on new dishes or improvements to existing offerings.
Experience
- Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food handling techniques and food safety regulations is essential.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Strong knife skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are important.
