The Sales Associate is responsible for generating sales by providing the customer with an exceptional shopping experience. The Sales Associate maximizes sales by delivering efficient, friendly and knowledgeable service and ensuring the store is neat, clean and well-presented at all times. The Sales Associate is expected to be a role model and instill The Horseman's Store values. Positive First behaviors in all Customer actions and interactions in order to create a positive Customer First experience. The Sales Associates perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning facilities.)

RESPONSIBILITIES (May Include, but are not limited too):
Sales Generation and Guest Services
Consistently demonstrate The Horseman's Store Customer Service Standards in order to deliver a positive customer experience and achieve daily sales goals.
- Greet Guest with a friendly and engaging attitude
- Drive our brand loyalty through being knowledgeable about all of our apparel & footwear merchandise.
- Help Guest try on or fit merchandise.
- Leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide the customer with product knowledge which will enhance customer engagement and maximize sales.
- Consistently provide support to fellow employees through sharing of knowledge, helping to complete tasks and/or assisting in customer interactions.
- Anticipate and fulfill guest's needs by suggesting additional items and creating a complete wardrobe.
- Remain consistent on personal sales, as well as looking for opportunities to impact Teammates' presentations.
- Perform register sales transactions quickly and accurately in accordance with established cash control procedures and customer service guidelines.
- Ensure return merchandise is restocked to the correct product location on the sales floor; all damaged and defective merchandise is properly labeled and placed in the appropriate area at the end of each shift.
- Maintain company brand standards of neat, clean, and organized sales floor, cash wrap, fitting room, and stockroom to ensure the store environment is safe and presentable for employees and customers.
- Execute efficient and effective handling of all merchandise from shipment processing, floor sets, markdown optimization, and replenishment systems while maintaining backroom Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Proactively resolve customer concerns in a manner consistent with company policy, and with customer satisfaction in mind; partner with the store leadership team on elevated customer issues.
- Achieve personal sales per hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by store management.
- Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, and the day before/after Thanksgiving and Christmas, based upon store and business needs.
- Open and close cash registers, use magnetic card readers, perform tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills specifically with customers, sales leadership team, and associates.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team. Ability to receive feedback and take action when appropriate.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast‐paced and deadline‐oriented environment.
- Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
- Perform merchandising tasks, such as handling freight, re-merchandising, preparing displays, and completing price markdowns, and transfers.
- Provide feedback to Store Manager and Leadership Team regarding merchandise handling concerns.
- Understand and apply The Horseman's Store Code of Ethics and all The Horseman's Store policies, procedures, and handbooks.
- Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
