Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and serve guests at the bar
- Pour drinks, using standard pour according to specifications
- Serve drinks to guests, along with filling orders for food and cocktail servers
- Handle cash and credit cards transactions
- Clean and change trash cans as necessary
- Fill and clean ice bins
- Stock beers and wine coolers
- Clean shelving, stainless steel, mixers, cups, blenders and soda guns
- Notify manager if a guest is becoming intoxicated or rude to other guests and team members
- Follow uniform and grooming specifications
- Communicate with support crew and management
- Serve food if requested
- Operate bar equipment
- Unpack deliveries and stock bars
- Change beer kegs
- Record accurate tip out sheet
- Abide by all state federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcohol
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and Stocking of all beer, wine, spirit, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce Based on projection from the daily function sheet
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges and understand portion sizes
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting and storing of all fresh fruits and vegetables garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Input orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guests, including those served by other beverage servers to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
- Check identification of guests ensuring alcohol is being served only to those patrons of legal drinking age
- Must have alcohol training certification (TAM/TIPS)
- Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
- Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
- Availability during peak operating times, ie: Weekends, Holidays and Special Events
- Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
- Understand company's emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
- Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
- Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
