The property, formerly operated as The Choo Choo Hotel, features 127 guest rooms, including 25 within restored vintage train carriages, an original bar and restaurant concept, Elsie’s Daughter, with parlor, patio, and courtyard service, a 3,000SF ballroom, a fitness center, and an alpine pool. Elsie's Daughter, an Appalachian bistro nestled in Chattanooga as part of The Hotel Chalet, is looking for a detail-oriented and confident Floor Lead to join our team. As a Floor Lead, you’ll ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly by maintaining the atmosphere of our dining spaces, providing support to the front-of-house staff, and creating a welcoming environment for our guests. If you have strong leadership skills, a knack for problem-solving, and a genuine love for hospitality, we’d love to meet you!
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a hospitality setting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and a calm demeanor under pressure.
Job Duties:
- Oversee the setup and maintenance of the dining room and patio, ensuring all areas are clean, stocked, and organized.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements, particularly for large parties, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for guest inquiries and handle any issues with professionalism and grace.
- Monitor inventory, coordinate with the kitchen for menu updates, and communicate changes to the team.
- Manage daily cash operations, including counting down drawers, balancing cash, and preparing Z reports for end-of-day reconciliation.
