Position Overview:
The Manager at The House Food and Tap will oversee the day-to-day operations of the food hall, ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and efficient experience for both guests and staff. This role includes supervising the check-in staff and sanitation crew, maintaining regulatory compliance for our 30-tap self-pour wall, overseeing guest services, managing employee schedules, and ensuring the overall operational success of the venue.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Lead, train, and supervise check-in staff and sanitation crew to ensure high-quality guest interactions and adherence to cleanliness and safety standards.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and develop staff to meet operational goals.
- Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and special events.
Self-Pour Wall Management:
- Oversee the 30-tap self-pour wall, ensuring all regulatory guidelines are followed (including age verification, alcohol consumption limits, and proper operation of the system).
- Ensure regular maintenance and calibration of the self-pour system, working closely with technical support and service providers.
- Track inventory levels, manage ordering, and ensure that the selection remains fresh, diverse, and appealing to guests.
Guest Services & Experience:
- Ensure high-quality guest service by addressing concerns and resolving issues in a timely, professional manner.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless and enjoyable guest experience, from check-in to food and drink service.
- Monitor guest feedback, both directly and via social media, and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
Operational Oversight:
- Ensure that all operational areas are functioning efficiently, including cleanliness, safety, and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for maintenance and supplies.
- Assist in budgeting, financial tracking, and cost control to ensure profitability while maintaining high service standards.
- Implement and enforce all relevant health, safety, and regulatory procedures across all aspects of the operation.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the General Manager and other team members to execute operational strategies and ensure a cohesive and supportive work environment.
- Act as the point of contact for resolving any issues between guests, staff, or vendors.
- Communicate effectively with the sanitation crew, check-in staff, and other departments to ensure all operational needs are met.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in management, preferably in the food and beverage or hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to alcohol service and health/safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse staff.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional guest service skills with a focus on creating a positive experience for every visitor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Experience with self-pour systems or similar technology is a plus, but not required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Comfort with working in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
