What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Server position at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa?
Position Purpose:
Assist members and guests with drink order.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to take drink orders correctly.
- Must be able to ring up the orders correctly.
- Must be able to carry and serve drinks.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have ability to perform daily work at a high level of accuracy.
- Must be able to take direction well.
- Must have keen attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have professional appearance and behavior.
- Must have interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have proficient technology skills on the POS system.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must be able to speak fluently in English.
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma is preferred.
- Minimum one year previous beverage servers experience required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a current T.A.B.C. and Food Handler certification.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk, stand and bend for long periods of time.
- Must be able to serve drinks with cocktail tray.
- Must be able to work weekends, Holidays, afternoons and nights.
- The hours of work varies upon business.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift 20 lbs or more.
- Must be able to see and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids.
