About National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences
NACCAS is a non-profit accrediting commission serving schools and students through the highest standards of education. We are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a national agency for the institutional accreditation of postsecondary schools and departments of cosmetology arts and sciences, including specialized schools. NACCAS currently accredits approximately 1,300 institutions that serve over 120,000 students. These schools offer over thirty (30) courses and programs of study that fall under NACCAS' scope of accreditation.
We are searching for our next great Human Resources Manager to work in our Alexandria, VA offices to support the mission of NACCAS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an annual position-specific training curriculum resulting in NACCAS employees completing at least 10 hours of continuing education each year.
- Responsible for implementing existing HR procedures and developing new or revised procedures in compliance with federal and state law.
- Advise Directors and managers on the recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, training, appraisal, goal setting, discipline, and termination of staff.
- Coordinate with the Director of Finance in preparation, review, approval and release of bi-weekly payroll and retirement plan contributions.
- Oversee performance review process, employee benefits renewals and reports.
- Carry out other projects and meet performance goals as assigned by the Executive Director.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field is required.
- Master's degree in human resources, business administration or related field and minimum of five (5) years Human Resources experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient knowledge of employment law and benefits management.
- Payroll and retirement plan experience.
- Effective communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to new directions and initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Starting salary is $93,000 with insurance benefits starting the first of the month after 60 days.
Possibility of remote work one day per week after 90 days of employment.
Bi-Lingual is preferred but not required.
