Position Summary
The Hub Project is looking for an experienced Associate Director of Campaigns who will work closely with campaigns in states across the country focused on educating the public about critical economic issues and holding elected officials accountable to their constituents. Our campaigns leverage a mix of grassroots organizing, paid media, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of the Hub and its allies. The Associate Director of Campaigns will lead and coordinate a team of passionate and talented staff from numerous departments across the organization, including research and policy, communications, digital, and support staff to create dynamic and effective issue advocacy campaigns. You will manage relationships with state partner organizations and provide strategic advice for collaborative projects. You’ll also be responsible for helping to build coalitions and work with a variety of vendors and partner organizations. This role may also be responsible for running small teams or short-term projects as necessary.
As Associate Director of Campaigns, you will:
Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.

As Associate Director of Campaigns, you will:
- Manage and oversee the activities of a major project and/or functional area in three or more statewide campaigns
- Build, sustain, and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders to conduct issue advocacy campaigns
- Build and manage processes to coordinate partner organizations across the country and manage all of the many moving pieces
- Lead cross-departmental communication between research and policy, communications, paid media, and polling departments
- Work with partners and internal staff to generate earned media
- Translate polling and other research into communications plans, organizing efforts, and materials for campaigns
- Collaborate with the Hub’s communications, research, and digital teams to ensure that local partners have resources to advocate on a variety of important issues
- Manage a team member to support the program
- Perform other duties as assigned
- You are committed to a just and inclusive economy that delivers opportunity and dignity to all Americans and you are passionate about preserving and strengthening our democracy
- You have at least 5 years of professional experience in issue advocacy or electoral campaigns
- You have written a campaign plan for either issue advocacy or electoral campaigns and orienting people to execute the plan
- You’re a pro at multitasking, working under tight deadlines and holding others accountable for them, and managing many competing priorities at once in a dynamic environment
- You have experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- You have an excellent understanding of earned media, social media, and how press strategies fit within the context of an issue-advocacy campaign
- You are an excellent writer and editor
- You excel at building and maintaining relationships with partner organizations and individuals
- You like working across various tactics on campaigns, developing processes for approvals and moving the ball forward to achieve campaign goals
- You are open to evolving responsibilities and enjoy working on multiple issues and projects
- You have a passion for trying new and innovative tactics alongside traditional approaches
- You’re well-organized and enjoy helping others achieve common goals
- You have experience managing electoral campaigns
- You have experience managing people and teams
- You are familiar with the unique policy and political environment of states across the country
