Qualifications
- 2-3 years coaching middle or high school level volleyball
- Clearance by New Jersey Department of Education
- Training and certification is a plus
- Practice sessions: Organize, schedule, and supervise 2-3 practice sessions per week. (Practices decrease when games increase.)
- Teaching: Instruct athletes in the fundamental ethos of teamwork and the skills of sport.
- Motivation: Motivate student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport, foster school spirit, emphasize the importance of teamwork
- Communication: Communicate expectations, practice schedule, game location and schedule, cancellations, game departure and return times to players and parents
- Transportation: help transport students to game and practice locations
- Flexibility, Creativity: Athletes at THS do not have “home fields.” Coaches are flexible and creative with the use of spaces, fields, courts.
- Community Involvement: Attend athletic department meetings, attend end of year athletics banquet, meet regularly with athletic director, possibly run occasional camps and clinics during breaks and days off
- Cultivate a fun and challenging learning environment
- Bring passion and energy to all coaching responsibilities
- Be prepared with appropriate and effective practice and game plans
- Be ready and on-time for practices and games
- Strengthen and expand THS athletics program
