Position Overview:
The Creative Producer will be instrumental in shaping the visual identity of the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County. This role will conceptualize, create, and execute visual assets—including video content and social media graphics—to amplify our mission and engage our audience.

A self-starter with a keen eye for design, strong technical skills, and a deep understanding of social media trends and graphic design best practices, the Creative Producer will lead creative projects from concept to completion.

This role also requires expertise in digital marketing and the ability to craft compelling narratives across multiple platforms, including social media, newsletters, and blogs. The ideal candidate is passionate not only about animal welfare but also about supporting people in keeping their pets with the families who love them most.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media Management & Engagement

• Uphold and refine the organization’s social media voice and presence in collaboration with the Marketing Strategist through consistent publications across platforms.
• Monitor and engage with audiences, responding professionally to inquiries and feedback in alignment with organizational values.
• Stay ahead of social media trends, identifying opportunities to expand visibility and reach.

Content Creation & Visual Storytelling

• Produce videos, graphics, and animations for social media, digital, and print materials.
• Capture and edit compelling photos and b-roll to document events and initiatives.
• Design branded social media assets, ensuring consistency and alignment with key messaging.
• Write, edit, and publish newsletters and promotional emails.

Adoptable Pet Promotions & Media Coordination

• Execute daily adoptable pet features for social media and the organization’s website with minimal oversight, anticipating content needs.
• Maintain and grow weekly and monthly adoptable pet features with local and national media outlets.

Creative Process & Asset Management

• Responsible for content creation from concept to execution, demonstrating initiative and brand awareness.
• Organize and maintain a digital asset library for easy access and reuse.

Other Duties

• Support Director of Marketing and Communications with media outreach and public relations opportunities.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Media Production, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven expertise in social media, video production, photography, editing, and graphic design, with a portfolio demonstrating creative and technical skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other relevant tools.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills for targeted communication materials.
• Effective public speaker; confident on-camera representative of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with strong professional judgment, problem-solving skills, and confidentiality awareness.
• Flexible and adaptable to evolving priorities and feedback.
• Passion for animal welfare and alignment with the organization’s mission.
• Comfortable working around and handling animals, including dogs, cats, and small critters.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Expertise in motion graphics, animation, and photography, with experience creating dynamic visual content.
• Familiarity with content management systems and digital marketing tools.
• Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to create impactful campaigns.

Working Conditions:

• This is an in-shelter position, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with occasional weekend shifts for events and special occasions as needed.
• Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required for events or urgent projects.
