This role involves travel throughout the Greater Houston area, including Baytown and Brazoria County (Angleton, Clute, Freeport, and Lake Jackson).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on Trane, York, and Thermax Absorption Chillers to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, including logging machine data, pulling samples, and adding chemicals as needed to maintain system efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cooling water, steam, purge pumps, and chemical imbalances.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues such as pump removals, bearing and seal replacements, and impeller condition checks.
- Perform startup and shutdown procedures for Absorption Chillers and retrofit factory chiller controls as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, providing customers with accurate reports on repairs, maintenance activities, and system performance.
- Ensure the proper management of lithium bromide concentration levels to maintain system efficiency and prevent crystallization.
- Work independently to minimize downtime and optimize the operation of cooling systems in the oil and gas refinery sector.
- Comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards in every aspect of your work.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience working with Trane, York, and Thermax Absorption Chillers and/or other OEM Absorbers.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to address complex system issues.
- In-depth knowledge of lithium bromide concentration management, absorption cycle operations, and refrigeration cycles.
- Experience in oil and gas refinery settings is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Universal EPA refrigerant certification is required.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Must possess a valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record (no violations in the last 3 years).
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Ammonia refrigeration experience and additional OEM certifications are a plus.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
