The Behavioral Health Coordinator provides comprehensive non-clinical support and a broad range of administrative support to Behavioral Health management and staff. This role ensures smooth office and departmental operations and provides exceptional support to both staff and clients.
This position is full-time with a schedule of Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Provides administrative support to the Behavioral Health Department and BH staff. This includes training BH staff on scheduling and eCW support and meeting scheduling and support.
- Responsible for documentation retention, editing, organization, and storage.
- Works alongside department staff toward excellent clinical quality care and quality improvement.
- Attends grant meetings as needed, upon request.
- Maintains meeting minutes and follow-up on action items.
- Performs data entry tasks and assists with special projects as directed by supervisor.
- Screens, assists, and refers patients to the Community Programs department for enrollment and redetermination.
- Screens for other barriers to care such as transportation, housing, food, etc. and refers to the Community Programs Dept for resources.
- Actively participates in the integrated care team setting by consulting and collaborating with all other service departments and staff including but not limited to Primary Care, Addiction Medicine, etc.
- Ensures department is aligned with organization’s contracted insurance companies, QI, and compliance measures.
- Handles special projects with thorough follow up to completion effectively in written and verbal form.
- Organizes and schedules appointments and meetings and coordinates arrangements.
- Displays knowledge of all HFHC uninsured programs including the Sliding Fee Scale program.
- Engages with members both in person and on the phone in a manner that utilizes evidence-based approaches, such as MI, that promote collaboration between the member and their health.
- Assists with the coordination of healthcare access issues.
- Maintains documentation for each contact as instructed and within the program timelines (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
- Displays knowledge of other services offered at HFHC.
- Promotes HFHC’s mission and values.
- Coordinates and participates in special events and community related activities.
- Provides reports to HFHC leadership and ensures that HFHC meets financial and grant goals.
- Provides data-driven reports to HFHC leadership.
- Assists with supply orders and tracks program data.
- Attends and participates in meetings and training sessions as directed by supervisor.
- Makes referrals and provides follow-up to appropriate community or state resources to ensure services are received.
- Works to address all operational issues in a timely manner, ensuring clinic flow is minimally affected. Assists with workflow development. Makes recommendations to admin for department efficiencies and organizational improvements.
- Participates in ensuring quality care delivery through enhancing patient experience, improving clinical experience, improving population health, and reducing costs.
- Lead patient access and efficiency by modeling high effectiveness, training, and assisting other providers in maximizing time and access to care. This includes providing feedback to admin and provider mentorship.
- Maintains the privacy and security of protected health information, the confidentiality of all information and conducts all aspects of patient care in an ethical and professional manner in accordance with federal, state rules and regulations.
