POSITION SUMMARY:
As an inventory expeditor you are responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials, supplies, or products within ICEE Supply Chain which includes move coordination of excess Service Center parts or product inventory to fulfill open orders before sourcing from relevant supplier. This role is also responsible for managing parts sourcing for back-order items.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Order management: Monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery product and parts including following up with suppliers or vendors to expedite delayed orders.
- Inventory monitoring: Track companywide inventory levels across all parts – using preset criteria identify parts into appropriate usage categories for ordering purposes. Identify shortages or overstock situations and coordinate corrective actions.
- Communication and Coordination: Act as a liaison between suppliers, vendors, and internal departments (e.g., Service Centers, Supply chain) and provide regular updates on delivery statuses and inventory availability.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve issues related to delayed shipments, damaged goods, or incorrect orders and work with vendors to negotiate alternative solutions in urgent situations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, delivery schedules, and vendor performance as well as generate reports to analyze lead times, inventory turnover, and supply chain efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Identify and suggest improvements to expedite inventory flow and reduce lead times. Work with teams to streamline procurement and logistics processes.
- Compliance: Ensure all inventory activities comply with company policies and industry regulations. Verify supplier adherence to quality and delivery standards.
COMPETENCIES:
To perform this job successfully, the Inventory Expeditor must be self-motivated, able to problem solve, be detail-oriented, and able to stay on task. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Basic understanding of JD Edwards systems.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools, such as Excel, SQL, and Power Bi.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, transportation logistics, and demand planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Graduate of Technical or Vocational school, preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs. or more on a regular basis. Occasional lifting in excess of 70 lbs. required.
- Willing and able to drive more than 40% of the time.
- Must have and wear steel-toed shoes.
