Sewing Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Sewing Supervisor provides guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to the sewing department.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Ensures daily work assignments are completed including jobs getting out the door on time and cleanliness of the department.
• Ensures completed jobs meet company quality standards.
• Assists with work tickets, answer questions and provides directions where needed.
• Assists with training.
• Work with production to minimize defective material.
• Tape, sew, stitch and finish fabric jobs.
• Follows all safety protocols.
• Works overtime as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervises the Sewer/Stitcher team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in the sewing industry.
• Experience using industrial sewing machines required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the printing industry preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role preferred.
• Direct supervisory skills and experience including conducting performance assessment reviews.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, organization, and communication.
• Strong oral/written communication skills.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Basic math skills.
• Basic measuring skills in both Standard and Metric units.
• Teamwork skills and the ability to perform with little supervision.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to use foot or knee controls of industrial sewing machines.
• Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
• Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
• Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
• Frequent walking and standing.
• Chemicals: N/A

The national pay range for this role is $24.00 - $27.00/hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission, o incentive program.
