Midnight Oil a division of Imagine, strategically located in "the heart of Hollywood" in Burbank, CA, is an extraordinarily creative, and specialty print production partner to many theatrical and streaming studios, with relationships often measured in terms of decades, not years. We uniquely and conveniently combine our Studio and Print Production capabilities all under one roof in our 120,000 square feet facility, with an Amtrak stop and the Burbank Airport directly across the street. Position Summary:
The Wide (Grand or Large) Format finisher is responsible for supporting multiple printing tasks on different machines for the Grand Format team specific to printing-based projects. The Finisher should be very detail oriented to ensure high quality finishing to Grand Format jobs in the most efficient manner. The ideal candidate should be very comfortable using different pieces of equipment which are specific to digital printing tasks and has strong communication skills to collaborate with different departments regularly on project goals.
Work Location: Onsite out of our Burbank, CA facility.
Shift Details: Second shift role. Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate Grand Format printing tools to produce quality finishing in the most efficient manner.
- Consistent ability to complete projects within a specified timeframe independently.
- Comfortable learning and performing various Grand Format finishing tasks including XY and guillotine cutting, RF welding, laminating, zund and UV coating.
- Effectively interact with the Grand Format press schedule and tickets accordingly.
- Follow GF procedures for charging time & material.
- Perform maintenance on finishing equipment when required.
- Ensure finishing production areas are cleaned and maintained efficiently daily.
- Maintain a strong client satisfaction mentality and approach for all projects.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management when required.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be comfortable learning technical skills and working with printing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience within a print production environment preferred.

Comfortable learning to operate printing specific manufacturing equipment.

Must be available to work longer hours/ overtime as needed.

Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in any language (including ASL) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing and walking required
- Manual dexterity for repetitive work
- Regular reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
- Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds
- Due to medical safety requirements: anyone with a Pacemaker will not be cleared to operate the RF Welder.
The national pay range for this role is $19-$21/an hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission, or incentive program.
