What you bring to the table :

The Home Health Staff and Training Specialist is responsible for seamless operations within Home Health by providing comprehensive administrative assistance and field support. This position is responsible for preparing and leading comprehensive and engaging in-person classroom training, in-home training, and ongoing support for caregivers including in-home personal care services. This role contributes significantly to the efficient functioning of the Home Health team and the delivery of exceptional service to clients.

  • Proficiency with computers, including MS Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Zoom, and other common computer programs.
  • Essential Responsibilities :

  • Provide hands on direct care and support to clients in their homes and accompaniment visits which include Personal Care Assistance, Health Maintenance, and Homemaker Services.
  • Assist Home Health office staff with various projects or tasks as needed to include
  • HR pre-hire tasks, scheduling, quality, and special projects.
  • Manages the on-call phone and provides back-up care as needed in accordance with the Scheduler On-Call policy (approximately one week out of every 3-6 weeks).
  • Checks the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) consistently for quality, identifies errors, and proactively works for timely resolution of any concerns.
  • Professional and timely documentation of critical patient care notes and relevant data within EMR software and alternate applications on the day of service.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally internally and externally with all clients, community partners, and staff providing extraordinary customer service through all means of communication to include email, phone, and text.
  • Comply with all applicable HIPPA privacy, state and federal rules and regulations, The IC policies and procedures, and community and professional standards.
  • Accept responsibility for and intentionally outreach opportunities for personal and professional training and development, and proactively participating in all Division required meetings, trainings, and culture initiatives.
  • Prepare and lead classroom caregiver orientation and training to newly hired Caregivers while remaining a constant contact for ongoing supports as needed.
  • Maintain all certifications, vaccinations, and training as required by Healthcare Policy and Finance (HCPF) including CPR, annual influenza vaccination, and CEUs.
  • This position requires other duties as assigned.
  • Education and Experience :

  • Maintain a current CPR certification, driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare administrative processes.
  • Professional office / administrative experience is preferred.
  • Prior Direct Care Worker experience providing hands-on care with all Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) in a home health setting, Assisted Living, or Long-Term Care required.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
  • Travel :

  • Local travel to partners, collaborators, and vendors for official IC-related business and events may be required.
  • Occasional travel to client's homes located in El Paso and potential surrounding Home Health covered counties. Must have a valid driver's license and car insurance.
  • Working Conditions :

  • Office environment requiring ongoing computer use and extended amount of time sitting or standing.
  • Off-site requirement to provide hands-on care in clients' homes as part of the HH on-call policies and procedures and job duties for this role.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Internet access to work remotely if protocols are issued for remote work.
