Responsibilities, Tasks, and Skills
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the accounting functions of Karla Otto, a leading Public Relations agency, and Lefty US, a SaaS marketing influencer platform. This role will be heavily focused on billing, collections, accounts payable, and vendor management, ensuring efficient financial operations across both business units.
The Staff Accountant will also oversee and mentor an Accounting Assistant, ensuring accuracy in financial records and supporting the finance team with daily operations.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
- Billing & Collections: Generate and process invoices, track receivables, follow up on overdue payments, and resolve discrepancies.
- Accounts Payable & Vendor Management: Process vendor invoices and payments, reconcile statements, manage relationships, and review expense reports.
- Reconciliations & Reporting: Perform bank reconciliations, record and allocate transactions, support month-end close, and assist with financial reporting.
- Supervision: Oversee and mentor an Accounting Assistant, ensuring accuracy in data entry, reconciliations, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and experience with NetSuite or similar ERP.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage high transaction volumes.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
