Job Title: Frontend Developer (3-Month Contract-to-Hire)
About Us:
We’re a small, growing edtech company focused on building innovative tools to enhance the learning experience for actuarial students. Our current focus is migrating from a legacy system to a modern React/Next.js website, and we’re looking for a skilled Frontend Developer to join our team on a 3-month 1099 contract-to-hire basis. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by building a clean, responsive, and high-quality web application. If the fit is right, this role will transition into a full-time position.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Developing the frontend of a brand-new React/Next.js website as part of our migration from a legacy system.
- Writing clean, high-quality, and maintainable code with a focus on responsive design and performance.
- Collaborating with our team to design and implement new features with a great user experience.
- Ensuring the website is optimized across a wide range of devices and browsers.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field).
- Proven proficiency with React.js, with the ability to help spearhead a brand-new project and make impactful contributions.
- Strong skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with Next.js and frontend workflows such as Redux or Context API.
- A strong eye for design, creativity, and attention to detail—someone who cares about building beautiful, user-friendly interfaces.
- Experience in writing clean, well-structured code that adheres to best practices.
- A strong focus on responsive design and performance optimization.
- Proficiency with version control (Git/Bitbucket).
- Ability to work in a small, collaborative team environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Flutter or mobile development.
- Experience with Firebase or other back-end services.
- Familiarity with Node.js for back-end work.
- Familiarity with cloud services like Google Cloud or AWS.
