Front Desk Agent
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Register guests, assign rooms, and accommodate special requests
· Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
· Stay up-to-date on room rates, packages, discounts and how to handle each, as well as how each relates to other departments
· Develop a thorough knowledge of room rates, room location and types of rooms
· Develop a detailed knowledge about the hotel’s staff, services, and hours of operation
· Develop a working knowledge of the reservations department; take same day reservations and future reservations when necessary
· Handle guest check-in/check-outs efficiently and in a friendly, professional manner
· Know cash handling procedures file and how to post all charges to guest, master, and city ledger accounts
· Use proper telephone etiquette
· Be aware of all daily activities and meetings taking place in the Hotel
· Report any unusual occurrences and/or requests to a manager or supervisor
· Know all fire, safety and emergency procedures and how to act upon them. Be aware of accident prevention policies
· Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the Front Desk area. Utilize free time cleaning and tidying work areas
· Assist guests with directions or any help needed
· Effectively upsell suites and higher price accommodations by selling the benefits of different suites
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Hotel Front Office experience is highly desirable.
· At least 1 year of customer facing job experience is required.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Must possess basic computer and typing skills.
· Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
· Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Must be able to stand for a full shift. Walking is occasionally required. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task
· Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
· Ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch, type and carry out substantial movements of the wrists and hands.
· Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds without assistance.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
