The Inn at Saratoga is a local, family owned hotel, in the heart of Saratoga Springs. The Front Desk Supervisor is a key member of a small, close knit, and supportive management team. At the Inn, all members of the management team are expected to work together and support each other to continually improve both the guest experience and the work environment of all employees. This position does require evenings, weekends, and some holidays. This position also requires occasional overtime and is responsible for covering extra shifts from time to time in the event of call offs or emergencies. An in depth understanding of hotel operations is a must for this position. The ideal candidate for the Front Desk Supervisor has great hospitality and customer service experience, a friendly and outgoing personality, understands working in a professional environment, is reliable, and has great attendance. This position is perfect for someone who has worked successfully at a hotel front desk for a year or more and is ready to move up to the next level in their career.
***Please note that administrative and medical desk work are not similar to hotel front desk work, this position requires hotel experience.
Front Desk Supervisor duties include but are not limited to:
- Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
- Answer telephones
- Post charges (i.e. room, food, telephone), compute bill, collect payment, and make change for guests.
- Make and confirm reservations.
- Monitor room availability.
- Handle guest mail and messages.
- Perform check-out services.
- Open and close shifts making cash drops as necessary.
- Maintain lobby and coffee area as needed.
- Assist in ensuring proper cash and key control procedures are followed.
- Assist in maintaining proper shift coverage including covering call offs.
- Assist in ensuring effective departmental communication through logs, daily stand up meetings and monthly department meetings.
- Assist in the training of all Front Office staff
- Perform various administrative tasks supporting management, i.e. event blocks, room forecasting, processing of guest billing issues, record keeping of service trends, cash drawer/deposit reconciliation, accurate inventory of supplies
- Maintain up to date records and files.
- Provide information pertaining to hours and available services of the hotel, i.e. restaurant, lounge.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the Front office, lobby and surrounding areas.
- Assist in checking all fixtures, equipment and conditions (lights, music, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operations, settings and maintenance. Report deficiencies.
- Communicate throughout the day with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist the GM with revenue management and monitoring rates and availability.
- Attend the weekly manager's meeting

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
