Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in a nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will assist in meal service and ensure that residents receive nutritious and appealing meals that meet their dietary needs. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and food preparation equipment.
- Support the cook in food production tasks, including portioning and plating meals as needed.
- Maintain proper food storage practices to ensure safety and quality.
- Collaborate with the Dietary Director and nursing staff to understand residents' dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Help set up dining areas for meal service, ensuring an inviting atmosphere for residents.
- Clean up after meals and reset the dining rooms to company standards.
- Clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment following health regulations.
- Participate in training sessions related to dietetics and food service best practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in a similar food service role is preferred.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and dietary guidelines is beneficial.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during meal service periods.
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff, nursing personnel, and residents.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean work environment in compliance with health standards.
