We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer/Renewable Energy Professional for our Rochester, New York or Syracuse, New York offices. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with 5 to 8 years of engineering experience, including construction oversight, stormwater management plans, civil engineering design (including grading analyses), permitting, and project management. The candidate must have prior ground-mounted solar engineering experience.
Your Role
Salary commensurate with experience.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 yr.
Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

Your Role
- Engineering design for renewable energy and other projects.
- Construction monitoring support.
- Client communications.
- Report writing.
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary consulting teams
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering
- 5-8 years of professional experience
- Experience with renewable energy projects is preferred.
- Experience with the site plan and zoning approval processes for renewable projects at the municipal level is preferred.
- Experience with the erosion and sediment control plan approval process for renewable projects through county and state regulatory processes.
- Understanding of surface water quality, stormwater quality, and stormwater management in construction and post-construction settings, hydrology and hydraulic analysis, and applicable rules and regulations
- Experience with the design of stormwater management systems, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
- Working knowledge of civil and environmental engineering principles, including grading, site layout, wetland impacts, entrances, traffic, utilities, etc.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in civil engineering is preferred.
- Working knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position (e.g., HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, ArcGIS, BlueBeam, etc.)
- Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including corridors, pipe networks, and grading, is required.
- Ability to work well independently and with project managers.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus
- A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
