Your Role
This position will work in our Buellton, CA location. A P roject Manager with experience in civil engineering analysis, design and project management on a variety of municipal, federal, commercial and private development projects, including stormwater, grading, multiuse paths, complete/green streets projects, active transportation projects, water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, retaining walls, bridges and related ancillary structures, as well as plan check services, inspection and direct support to the City of Buellton. Experience working with local municipalities, construction inspection, knowledge of Greenbook and Caltrans standards is a plus.

Your Role
This position will work in our Buellton, CA location. A P roject Manager with experience in civil engineering analysis, design and project management on a variety of municipal, federal, commercial and private development projects, including stormwater, grading, multiuse paths, complete/green streets projects, active transportation projects, water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, retaining walls, bridges and related ancillary structures, as well as plan check services, inspection and direct support to the City of Buellton. Experience working with local municipalities, construction inspection, knowledge of Greenbook and Caltrans standards is a plus.
- Civil Engineering infrastructure design that includes permitting, grading, hydraulic design, erosion control, storm drainage, water distribution, and sanitary sewer collection systems
- Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses
- Support the City of Buellton
- Support preparation of detailed engineering reports and supporting documents
- Support preparation of construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates
- Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
- Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other engineering disciplines
- Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner
- Perform private development plan checks
- Coordinate with City staff and residents on an as needed basis
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- BS in Civil Engineering Required
- 10 years of experience
- California professional engineering license required (or PE in another state with the ability to obtain CA PE within 9 months)
- Knowledge of Greenbook, Caltrans and City/County standards.
- Knowledge of County of Santa Barbara County standards is a plus.
- Background will ideally include project work and process knowledge of grading and drainage (using Civil3D), hydrology and hydraulics, and transportation.
- Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Desired background to include experience with municipal, commercial, or residential infrastructure projects that includes the design and permitting of the following types of projects: roadway, street, bikeway, erosion control, grading, storm drainage, water distribution, water quality and sanitary sewer collection systems
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to self-direct and self-check plan sets and reports
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D/MicroStation InRoads, word processing and spreadsheet management programs with working knowledge of applicable codes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel
