Job Description :
The Information Systems Security Engineer will be responsible for engineering, implementing, and monitoring security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, and information. They will be required to identify and define system security requirements as well as design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs. This person will be responsible for making systems more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against cybersecurity attacks, and securing highly sensitive data. Qualified candidates should have experience with information security and systems engineering.

Responsibilities :
The Information Systems Security Engineer will support the Government's efforts in creating secure data protection. They will be expected to design computer security architecture and documents standard operating procedures and protocols. They should be prepared to develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
Duties :
Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
Identify and define system security requirements
Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents
Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement

Clearance Required :
Applicants must have at least an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a clearance at the TS / SCI level. Preference will be given to those who have an active TS / SCI clearance. Applicants must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status upon hiring. All ISA employees are required to uphold and maintain trustworthiness and suitability requirements of the U.S. federal government.
Experience Required :
We are currently hiring Senior Information Systems Security Engineers. Experience should include but is not limited to working knowledge of :
- 10 years of proven work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer
- Experience in building and maintaining security systems
- Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
- Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
- Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
- Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
- Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network / web related protocols
Education :
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Required). Master's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
Certification :
CompTIA Security or similar preferred.

Salary at ISA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The salary range for this position varies dependent on years of experience, relevant certifications and education. Salary is just one component of ISA's total compensation package for employees.
Starting Salary Ranges for this position is $150,000.00.
