Associate Director, Fund Accounting
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Director of Fund Accounting to join a team committed to excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing critical accounting functions, ensuring the accurate tracking and reconciliation of cash transactions, and collaborating with multiple departments to support the company's financial processes. You will also take ownership of various accounting analyses, contribute to the monthly closing process, and maintain comprehensive documentation to support auditors and tax preparers. This is a highly visible role that offers substantial growth potential within the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare schedules and analyses to support auditors and tax preparers.
Maintain process documentation for accounting practices related to commercial servicing contracts and servicer advances.
Monitor cash transactions related to servicer advances, reconciling them with servicing records and the general ledger; resolve discrepancies promptly.
Ensure credit facilities related to commercial servicing contracts and servicer advance entities are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
Collaborate with Capital Markets and Commercial Mortgage Servicing teams to ensure timely and accurate recording of servicer advance activity.
Oversee accounting and analysis tasks for designated entities in accordance with the monthly closing schedule.
Take on additional tasks and projects as assigned to support the overall objectives of the team.
Key Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on fund accounting in the commercial real estate sector
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Logical problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach to tackling challenges and identifying effective solutions
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with team members across all levels of the organization
Self-motivated and independent, demonstrating a proactive attitude and taking full ownership of responsibilities
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate communication and consider diverse perspectives
