What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Specialist position at The Intersect Group?
The Intersect Group is currently accepting applications for a full-time HR Benefits Specialist. This is a new position with the organization and highly collaborative. This position will be expected to assist with a wide variety of different HR Administration responsibilities.
Position will be 100% on site in office.
Compensation range: $20-25 per hour
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Managing benefit changes due to life events (marriage, birth, etc.)
- Answering employee questions regarding benefit plans and coverage options
- Processing benefit claims and resolving issues with insurance providers
- Conducting open enrollment meetings and providing information on plan changes
Compliance:
- Staying updated on federal and state regulations regarding leave and benefits (FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA)
- Ensuring compliance with all benefit plan requirements
- Auditing benefit records for accuracy
Data Management:
- Maintaining employee benefits information in HR systems
- Generating reports on leave usage and benefit costs
- Assist with and update onboarding process and employee handbook
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of employee benefits, onboarding and open enrollment process
- Excellent communication skills to answer employee questions and explain complex policies
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple leave requests and benefit enrollments
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information
- 3-5 years of benefits and/or safety experience, willing to train
Salary : $20 - $25
