Job Title: Senior Inventory Accountant
Type: Direct-Hire
Location: On-Site 5 days, Newport Beach, CA 92660
Summary:
The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and with experience in high-value, complex, customized inventory. They will play a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. Reporting to the CFO, they will collaborate with various departments, including operations, sales, and procurement, to ensure seamless inventory management and reporting.
What You Will Do
- Monitor inventory purchases and assist the production team with financial support
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, annual financial closing processes for complex, multifaceted, high-value goods.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations adhering to timeliness, completeness, and accuracy
- Prepare and troubleshoot account variance analysis with a focus on inventory and cost accounting, gross margin, cost of goods sold, international and intercompany transactions.
- Assist the Director of Audit in SOX compliance
- Assist the Director of Audit in internal and external audit preparations
- Prepare annual budgets and include labor /overhead rates for the Workshop
- Perform ad hoc accounting and analysis projects
What Ideal Candidate Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Accounting professional qualification such as CPA license is a plus
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably as a senior accountant
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets and perform complex calculations
- Significant hands-on experience using ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus)
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory and cost accounting (luxury retail environment is helpful)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
