Job Summary :
A skilled and experienced Accounting Manager is needed to lead and optimize the accounting close process, oversee financial reporting, and manage a team of direct reports. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in GAAP compliance, financial reporting, and internal controls. The position involves collaborating across disciplines, managing revenue recognition, and supporting audits, as well as contributing to process improvements and system integrations.
Responsibilities :
Structure and manage the close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Oversee accounting activities, including intercompany allocations, payroll entries, fixed assets, prepaids, and accruals.
Review reconciliations and approve journal entries.
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 5 direct reports, fostering professional development.
Manage financial closes on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Implement and document effective processes to improve close and reporting cycles.
Identify recurring and nonrecurring transactions for management reporting.
Present general ledger results to leadership.
Manage revenue recognition procedures and accounts receivable in collaboration with the Revenue Cash Management team.
Develop internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Handle quarterly lender reporting and support the annual audit process.
Lead special projects, such as systems integrations and upgrades.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Active CPA certification.
7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-4 years in external audit with 1-2 years at the Senior level.
Experience in small to mid-sized private companies.
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Hands-on experience with lender reporting.
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with large ERP systems (QuickBooks not applicable).
Proven ability to manage and develop a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of accomplishments.
Effective collaboration across disciplines and locations.
Preferred Skills :
Experience in the healthcare industry.
Familiarity with NetSuite or Oracle systems.
Knowledge of joint venture accounting.
Experience with FloQast.
Soft Skills :
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Self-motivated and adaptable in a lean environment.
