The Ion Center for Violence Prevention is a non-profit agency serving 13 Kentucky counties with an important mission: providing the best care of people who have been impacted by power-based personal violence and measurably reducing the number of people who have been hurt by it. The Ion Center's identity shines in everything we do such as preventION, compassION, protectION, interventION, collaboratION, and transformatION. All services provided to victim-survivors are free and confidential.
The Ion Center is looking for a compassionate and detail oriented individual that will support and serve victim-survivors by providing a clean welcome environment for victim-survivors both residing in our Northern Kentucky shelter and visiting the Covington Outreach Office. The Housekeeper will clean public areas and restrooms/bathrooms in shelter and the office, mopping, dusting, removing trash, and completing special cleaning projects. The Housekeeper will communicate maintenance, housekeeping, and safety needs to the facilities manager and must maintain client confidentiality. This is a full-time position.

Shelter Upkeep
Maintain the general cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, and upkeep of the public areas and stairwells in shelter, including, but not limited to mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal
Maintain the general cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, and upkeep of restrooms and bathrooms in shelter
Complete cleaning checklist
Deep clean client rooms upon client’s exit
Re-stock items as needed in bathrooms
Communicate cleaning supply needs to ensure adequate amounts on-site
Report maintenance, housekeeping, and safety concerns to facilities manager
Complete special cleaning projects as assigned
Outreach Office Upkeep
Maintain the general cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, and upkeep of the public areas and stairwells in the outreach office, including but not limited to mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal
Maintain the general cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, and upkeep of restrooms in the outreach office
Complete cleaning checklist
Re-stock items as needed in restrooms
Communicate cleaning supply needs to ensure adequate amounts on-site
Report maintenance, housekeeping, and safety concerns to facilities manager
Complete special cleaning projects as assigned
Communication, Teamwork, and Administration Duties
Maintain cleaning/maintenance files and documentation as appropriate.
Attend related meetings and trainings.
Accept and disseminate donations.
Contribute to a clean, healthy, and trauma informed work environment.
Collaborate as a team across agency sites.

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, skills, etc.):
Knowledge and skills at a level typically acquired through obtaining a degree from an accredited college/university; or high school diploma or equivalent and one to two years related experience.
Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care
Ability to work under highly stressful, crisis-oriented situations
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain high level of confidentiality
Outstanding empathetic and listening skills
Professional oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate on a team
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
Complete trainings for funding requirements and knowledge building
Must be minimum age of 18.
