A day in the life…
Wondering what a day in the life of a Credentialing Coordinator at The Iowa Clinic might look like?
- Preparing applications for insurance payers, federal programs, and hospital privileges
- Assisting new providers in their application and credentialing process
- Working with existing providers and their office staff in the re-credentialing process for insurance payers and hospitals
- Overseeing successful completion of the credentialing process for new and successful re-credentialing process for existing providers and following up on incomplete applications
- Leave in the evening – hooray for working standard clinic hours!
The schedule for this role will be Monday - Friday, based around the hours of 7am - 5pm (8-hour days) onsite in West Des Moines.
This job might be for you if you have….
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working with a physician credentialing and a working knowledge of different types of insurance programs preferred
Qualifications
- A desire to find a meaningful, fulfilling career

- Ability to read and write legibly and understand/follow written and verbal directions
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Must possess organizational and self-motivational skills in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks while meeting required deadlines
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and focused amid constant interruptions in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate a computer and work with computer spreadsheet software
