The Island Grind is a coffee shop / cafe located on the waterfront grounds of the historic Lonz Winery on Middle Bass Island. This island sits off the shores of Ohio in Lake Erie. We serve gourmet coffees, teas, breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches & more. Behind the coffee shop is a 1920's inspired bar, Prohibition. We also have an expansive waterfront patio / bar with live entertainment on weekends. Shareable plates & supper specials are our specialties. Housing is available.

Job Responsibilities:

Partners with management to create & cultivate a brand & customer experience that promotes island life, family fun & relaxation.
Provides exceptional customer service by connecting with our customers & maintaining positive relationships.
Crafts & serves a variety of specialty cocktails, mocktails, beers & wine.
Welcomes & educates customers by determining their interests & needs, explaining the beverage menu & answering questions.
Follows prescribed recipes & preparation techniques.
Generates revenues by promoting specials & expanded services & products.
Maintains inventories by replenishing supplies & products.
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; continually cleaning equipment & maintaining supplies.
Maintains a safe & healthy work environment by following company standards & sanitation regulations.
Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, & re-designing processes; recommending & implementing change; maintaining & improving the appearance of the bar areas.
Always maintains an inviting & sanitary dining area for guests.

Experience Requirements:

Prior customer service experience a plus.
Prior bar experience is a bonus!
Familiarity with point-of-sale software a plus.
Yes, prior experience is a plus, but the good news is we are willing to train you everything you need to know to make you highly successful in this role IF you are committed to it.
