DSP (Direct Support Professional)

We are seeking qualified individuals in the Newport News and Suffolk area, to serve in the role of Full-Time Direct Care Professionals.

This position consists of caring for live-in residents whom require 1:1 or 2:1 care. Our organization is growing rapidly and we are looking for committed individuals looking for a long time career and have a passion for caring for people. We offer employer paid on-going accredited trainings to assist with individual growth.

To qualify for this position you must have at least a high school diploma or GED and preferably 2 years of experience providing supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a group home environment.

This position requires a very High Level of professionalism, attentiveness, patience and dependability. The temperament to accept coaching with the ability to make sound judgement calls in challenging situations firmly based on policy and procedures. Knowledge of the various complexities and needs associated with the ID and duly diagnosed population. This person must also be extremely capable of understanding and implementing structured behavioral plans and interventions. In addition, availability to attend on going paid mandatory specialized training.
