Ivey Leap Child Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Aide to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, strong teamwork skills, and the necessary qualifications to support a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Position Details:
- Title: Child Care Aide
- Location: Ivey Leap Child Care
- Pay: $16 - $18 per hour
- Schedule: Must be able to work Monday to Friday, open availability
Requirements:
- High school diploma (required)
- Child Development Associate (CDA) certification (required)
- 1 year of experience in childcare (preferred)
- Must successfully complete all state-required background checks and clearances, including:
- Criminal background check
- Fingerprinting and FBI clearance
- Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check
- National Sex Offender Registry check
- Must meet all state health requirements (e.g., immunization records, TB test, etc.)
- Current Infant CPR and First Aid certification (required)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for working with children
Responsibilities:Supervision & Safety
- Assist lead and assistant teachers in supervising children to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
- Monitor children during indoor and outdoor activities to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including sanitation procedures and emergency protocols.
Child Interaction & Engagement
- Support children with daily routines, including meals, naps, and bathroom breaks.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities such as play, arts and crafts, and storytelling.
- Foster positive social interactions and assist children in developing communication skills.
Classroom Assistance
- Help set up and clean classrooms before and after activities.
- Prepare and organize materials for lessons and activities as instructed by the teacher.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
Meal & Hygiene Support
- Serve meals and snacks while considering dietary needs and allergies.
- Assist younger children with feeding and self-care, including handwashing and dressing.
- Support diapering and potty training as needed, following proper hygiene guidelines.
Communication & Reporting
- Report any behavioral concerns or incidents to the lead teacher or director.
- Provide feedback to teachers about children’s progress and needs.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
Team Collaboration
- Work cooperatively with teachers and staff to support daily operations.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Follow directions from lead teachers and administrators to ensure smooth classroom operations.
