Ivymount School is looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking school mental health professional to provide collaborative services to meet individual student needs and goals as well as classroom and program-wide supports. Ivymount has created nationally recognized programs and partnerships for autistic individuals and other with unique learning needs as well as their families. The goal in all our programs is to help children, students, and young adults achieve their highest level of development and independence. In addition to creating our own education and outreach programs, Ivymount forms partnerships with other organizations and researchers, often functioning as a training site, to ensure that our innovative and intensive approach is widely disseminated and influences the larger field of special education and support services. This is a full-time position with a base salary of $64,478. An additional 10% of the base salary is offered as benefit dollars for a total annual compensation of $70,900. Benefit dollars may be used to purchase a variety of health and welfare benefits. Summary: The Mental Health Provider is responsible for providing collaborative services to meet students’ needs, as deemed necessary by assessment and as indicated by a student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), as well as working with other school professionals on classroom and program-wide evidence-based supports. The Mental Health Department serves students in the following programs within the school: Aspire School Program: Elementary/Middle and Secondary. Within the Program there are three models Academic & Applied Learning Model, Academic & Social Learning Model, and Aspire Post High School. . The Academic & Applied Model serves diploma and certificate seeking students from elementary through high school ages who are successful in a highly structured, small group instructional environment with accommodations and modifications in the areas of academic and adaptive living. The Academic & Social Model provides a dynamic, diploma-track program for students from elementary through early high school ages with average to above average cognitive abilities who struggle in mainstream learning environments due to differences with social skills, executive functioning, flexible thinking, and self-regulation. The Aspire Post High School Program provides a community focused, life skills program that prepares students ages 18-21 for a successful transition from school to employment and adult life. Responsibilities Provide individual or small group counseling services as deemed necessary by assessment and as indicated by a student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing a mental health perspective Develop Social-Emotional IEP goals for students in treatment, complete annual IEP reports, recommendations, and quarterly progress reports on social and emotional goals Contribute to the development and implementation of programming and supports designed to address student mental health needs identified by the educational team or as indicated by the program/division Complete psychosocial assessments to determine if counseling services are warranted within the school environment Provide mental health related supports to students during crisis moments as needed, including conducting risk assessments and collaborating on appropriate next steps Provide consultation to school staff to support the emotional needs of the school community (students, families, staff) Maintain accurate documentation according to COMAR regulations and LEA requirements Provide parent support and guidance as needed Collaborate and coordinate services with community therapists and agencies as needed Hold confidential all knowledge of students and their families Maintain ethical standards of applicable professional Board of Examiners Work collaboratively with other team members in programs/divisions as assigned Requirements Licensed (or has qualification to be licensed) in the state of MD with any of the following credentials: LMSW or LCSW-C, LCPC, PhD or PsyD MSW (Masters in Social Work), MA or MS in Psychology, or PhD or PsyD (doctorate in Psychology) Experience working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team Experience delivering school-based mental health services Clinical experience with students with special needs, including, but not limited to, a range of developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder and intellectual disabilities Excellent oral and written communication skills Computer skills related to common office tasks such as email, conducting internet searches, and using MSOffice (e.g., TEAMS, Outlook, MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint) Knowledge and/or experience using therapeutic best practices for promoting the social and emotional growth of individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) preferred Working knowledge of research and literature related to the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred Ability to effectively train and supervise staff preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $70,925.00 per year Benefits: Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Referral program Retirement plan Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Schedule: Day shift Monday to Friday Application Question(s): Ivymount is unable to provide sponsorship for work authorization visas.
