Job Summary
With limited supervision, the Senior Telecommunications Engineer provides telecommunications cabling service and assistance to users in the Getty community. Assists all telecommunications and cabling.
Major Job Responsibilities
Maintains and implements telecommunications access, security, and services
- Monitors telecommunications for stability and proper configuration
- Performs telecommunications reconfigurations, equipment installations, and upgrades
- Provides work guidance, escalation, and training to lower-level specialists and contractors
- Identifies chronic telecommunications problems and develop solutions / repairs
- Regularly interacts with functional peer group, area supervisors or managers, and internal customers
- Applies job skills and departmental policies and procedures to complete a wide range of complex tasks in creative and effective ways
- May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues
- Adapts behavior and work methods, as needed, in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn and use new procedures and technology
- Effectively handles multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid change
- Contributes to projects based on areas of expertise
- May orient, train, coach, assign, and check the work of associate service personnel
