GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of clinical software applications within a healthcare organization. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work requires sitting for long periods of time. Full range of motion with lifting, bending, reaching, and standing. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a personal computer, telephone, copier/fax machine, and other office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in normal range for telephone contacts.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful and high-volume context and confidential in nature. Flexible work hours may be required to accommodate training, system updates, and system optimization needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide leadership in team development, including mentoring, coaching, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution to ensure optimal staff performance and growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical users in the outpatient multi-specialty group for issues related to EHR systems, clinical software, and other health IT solutions.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to analyze workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement technology-driven solutions to enhance patient care.
- Assist in the selection, implementation, and optimization of clinical technologies, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Analyze data from clinical systems to provide insights for improving patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and clinical documentation.
- Assist in development and maintenance of reports and dashboards to support clinical decision-making and performance metrics.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and enhance clinical processes and workflows.
- Stay current with healthcare informatics trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements that impact outpatient clinical settings.
- Working knowledge of integrating systems across different applications utilizing HL7 interface or similar technologies.

EDUCATION: Associate or bachelor’s degree in health informatics, computer science, nursing, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Three or more years of experience working in a clinical informatics or healthcare IT role, preferably within an outpatient multi-specialty setting. Two or more years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
