Job Description: Physician Extender-LPN or RN

Location: Jackson, TN, 38305

Job Summary

The Physician Extender-RN provides professional nursing care for Clinic patients in the physician extender role following established standards and practices in the clinic. The role involves performing general nursing care to patients, preparing equipment, and assisting physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. The Physician Extender-RN also observes, records, and reports patients' condition and reaction to treatments to physicians and administers medication as needed. The role involves scheduling appointments and ensuring preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. The Physician Extender-RN also maintains timely flow of patients and works with the medical office assistant/LPN within the clinic. Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for Clinic patients in the physician extender role following established standards and practices in the clinic
• Perform general nursing care to patients
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients
• Observe, record, and report patients' condition and reaction to treatments to physicians
• Administer medication as needed
• Schedule appointments and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations
• Maintain timely flow of patients
• Work with the medical office assistant/LPN within the clinic

Qualifications

• Valid LPN or RN license in the state of Tennessee
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
