Position Summary: 3rd Shift
The Maintenance Supervisor reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. They are responsible for being the liaison between the Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Crew and collaboration with the Maintenance Planner and PM schedule. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for interacting with and supporting plant personnel, enforcing all maintenance procedures, executing, and maintaining all employee safety policies, food safety polices and associated administrative policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing and leading the maintenance crew, coordinating with the maintenance planner, and ensuring line readiness for production.
- Participates in the company safety program and the company project team.
- Coordinates workflow regarding general tasks, projects to meet the production needs of the plant.
- Ensuring employees are utilizing the necessary resources to complete the applicable tasks with the mindset to utilize parts, tools and resources that are needed.
- Responsible for coordinating the “Scheduled Maintenance, Tools and Parts Accountability Procedure” (1505) and the “New Equipment Purchase/Implementation Program” (1801).
- Ensuring all employees follow the GMP guidelines and follows the SQF guidelines.
- Responsible for motivating maintenance personnel to accomplish company objectives.
- Responsible for periodically (bi-annually) auditing maintenance processes to ensure compliance with SSOPs and ensure effectiveness of current established practices.
- Will enforce the maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring that employee performance reviews are conducted based upon their specific job description to determine competency, knowledge, and the contributions of each maintenance technician.
- Responsible for communicating with Production, Sanitation, Material Control and Quality Assurance to plan and schedule work to ensure food safety standards are upheld while maximizing productivity.
- Collaborates with Quality Assurance to resolve food safety issues.

Maintains company standards are followed for the following food safety and plant safety programs:
- Unscheduled Maintenance Policy
- Maintenance Program
- Gump Sifter / Pfenning Sifter Inspection Policies
- Temporary Repair Policy
- Tools and Parts Accountability Procedure
- Hot Work Permits
- Lock Out/Tag Out – Confined Space – Altitude – Hazmat Safety Program Enforcement
- Maintenance MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and SDS (Safety Data Sheets)
- Participates in grievances and/or other union contract related discussions.
- The Maintenance Supervisor is expected to be a role model for the company culture.
- The incumbent understands and complies with all food safety policies, procedures and programs as stated in the Company’s Food Safety Manual.
- Participates as a functional member maintenance department and is a driving force to coordinate with the supervisors on other shifts and other departments.

Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of operational engineering experience
- TPM implementation
- Outstanding leadership skills
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards
- Basic understanding of quality improvement methods such as LEAN, Six Sigma
- Knowledge working to regulatory standards: FDA, Good Engineering Practice (GEP)
- Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Good Documentation Procedures (GDP)
- Knowledge and experience of site security operations.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Knowledge of project management skills
Qualifications:
Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory position.
