Job Summary:
**Located in Fort Sam, TX
The Sales Associate holding this position is responsible for day-to-day DME store operations. This includes maximizing store sales and profitability, assist with customer product training, assist in billing, and ensuring that all customers are provided with excellent customer service.
DME Sales Associate:
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Studies data describing new products to develop sales approaches.
- Compiles data on equipment and supplies preferred by customers.
- Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers by phone.
- Advises customers of equipment for given needs based on technical knowledge of products.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes sellable features.
- Provides customers with advice in such areas as office layout, legal and insurance regulations, cost analysis, and collection methods to develop goodwill and promote sales.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of the firm's production and delivery schedules.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into the company database.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Input, process, and track insurance claims. Investigate and resolve any denials.
- Attends trade shows.
- Participates in Improvement of Operational Performance (IOP) activities.
- Participates in traditional and e-learning programs.
- Works effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments.
- Performs all job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.
Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma/ GED/ associate degree in business or related or equivalent experience in DME, Home Health Industry, or Retail
- Medical or Healthcare Industry experience preferred.
- Must be a strong communicator, have excellent written, presentation, oral communications and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess strong leadership skills, can motivate and influence others
- Fluently speak, read and write in English
Preferred qualifications:
- Durable Medical Equipment experience
- 1-3 years’ customer service or retail experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in either Home Health Industry, nursing, respiratory therapist, or pharmacy technician
