Warehouse/Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

Production Area Supervisor is responsible for overseeing teams of employees and motivating them to complete their job duties effectively. Their duties include training new employees and providing team members with daily objectives. Leads by example and works hands-on with staff as needed to meet production goals. Making sure processing of products is done correctly and in a timely manner. Getting Products ready for trucks and making sure trucks are loading right and all data is updated.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and motivate team members to achieve production.
• Ensure team members follow company policies and procedures
• Promote a positive work environment and company culture
• Assign tasks to team members
• Provide reports to the Production Area Supervisor on team performance and attendance.
• Ensure team is kept informed of management communications, new procedures, and other changes
• Determine the completion timeline and monitor progress to keep the project on track and on schedule
• Manage the flow of day-to-day operations
• Train new hires on Jay Group processes and software
• Provide hands-on assistance in all areas of shipping and receiving as needed
• Coordinate with other teams on resource allocation
• Ensure all customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped by end of day
• Ensure all shipments received are handled in compliance with procedures

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma, preferably with business curriculum emphasis
• Previous experience managing small teams in production, warehousing, retail or similar environment
• Ability to fluently read, write and speak English
• Detail oriented
• Basic computer skills - data entry and web navigation
• Aptitude to quickie learn software used by the department
• Strong verbal communication and writing skills
• Self motivated with strong organizational skills

Physical Demands:

The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
• Must be able to traverse and access any/all areas of the warehouse
• Ability to work in a warehouse climate with a broad temperature range
