The Category Insights Manager will support Divisional Sales Managers by monitoring, analyzing, and summarizing category and brand performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Track and analyze category, brand, and item performance
- Make recommendations for optimal customer product mix
- Use syndicated and customer data to evaluate business trends
- Analyze new item and promotional performance
- Utilize/overlay demographic and shopper insight data in analysis
- Help develop fact-based sales presentations
- Attend account presentations and provide support for the data being presented
- Up to 25% travel
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 5-7 years in a category management or marketing function within the CPG industry highly desirable.
- 5-7 years of proficiency with Nielsen/Circana/IRI Scandata
- Advanced knowledge working with Numerator and Stratum
- Food and/or beverage experience is desirable.
- Direct Sales/Broker Management experience with retailers a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, or related field desirable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong analytical skills to ensure integrity of data.
- Experienced in all elements of the marketing mix and have a firm grasp of marketing principles
- Experience with building planograms a plus.
- Experienced with developing sales presentations.
- Excellent communication skills - oral and written.
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong work ethic
BONUS & SALARY
The minimum compensation for the Category Insights Manager is $95,000 annually. This position is also eligible for the Sales Bonus program. The Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. Compensation is determined by a candidate's experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. Actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer.
