POSITION OVERVIEW : The CCBHC Medical Director is a highly skilled psychiatrist providing leadership and guidance at a Coordinated Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC). Responsibilities include :

  • Partnering with the CCBHC Senior Director and other leaders to promote integrated care.
  • Working in a traditional clinical role up to 20% of the time.
  • Leading clinical team meetings, case conferences, and monthly utilization reviews.
  • Providing psychiatric support and assisting with clinical consultations.
  • KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Support psychiatric best practices and quality improvement processes.
  • Provide clinical orientation for new hires and support in using electronic health records.
  • Conduct chart reviews for practitioners focusing on strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts by interviewing psychiatric candidates.
  • Supervise NPP students and psych providers at the CCBHC.
  • Provide direct client services and oversee clinical operations.
  • CORE COMPETENCIES :

  • Extensive experience providing psychiatric care across a wide range of diagnoses.
  • Experience in training new providers and supervising students.
  • Comfort with remote supervision via technology-based systems.
  • EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED :

  • Active New York State medical license and DEA.
  • Specialty or considerable experience in Substance Use Treatment.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED : Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL EFFORT : The work environment involves no physical risk. The candidate is routinely required to sit and travel to program sites within NYC.
