PURPOSE
The Jewish Board’s Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff use a culturally competent, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resiliency of our communities.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program is an article 32 OASAS licensed outpatient program providing culturally affirming, evidence-based counseling and medication assisted treatment to adolescents and adults with SUD diagnoses and their families. Treatment approaches are trauma informed and individualized to the client and family. The program is part of the Midwood Brooklyn Hub, a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center that serves all members of the community. As part of our person-centered approach, the program is open evenings and weekends to provide the community with optimal access to care.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is often the first point of contact (or most frequent point of contact) clients, referral providers and other entities have with the program. Provide a warm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere in telephonic and in person interactions with clients, referring providers, and other entities that contact the program. Provide secretarial and administrative support for the program. Monitor and maintain all files and records. Using office automation products, type routine and complex correspondence and generate reports. Maintain internal and external data bases.
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Answer calls, take accurate messages and route calls to the appropriate party. Take accurate, detailed messages where necessary.
Meet, greet, and keep track of clients.
Type routine and complex correspondence accurately. In addition, type minutes, create flyers, announcements, and other communication as required, under supervisor's direction.
Provide clerical support including photo copying, faxing, scanning etc.
Monitor department timesheets and submit signed sheets to Payroll
Schedule appointments and meetings.
Maintain department personnel files, paper client charts, and business records.
Manage and update department and/or external database(s).
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED (List all that is required to achieve this position):
HS diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE (List what the desire to reach goals):
Strong attention to detail for accurate and timely completion of tasks.
Ability to communicate effectively
Good customer service skills
COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED (List the computer skills needed):
Knowledge of and experience with using computers; Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, powerpoint), email, video conference platforms
VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY:
Hand-eye coordination to operate computers and office-based equipment
