Job Description
The Dance Instructor of the JCC School of Dance will contribute to the vision, mission and values of the JCC by instructing classes for the growth and well-being of JCC members and community participants. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following :
- educate students on current and up-to-date best dance practices that teach correct technique, alignment, warm-up and cool-down exercises that help to prevent injury
- create choreography or dance routines
- develop lesson plans that are age appropriate based on student level and experience
- gradually increase skill level dependent on the experience of their students
- ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
- explain and demonstrate techniques and methods of regulating movements of body to musical and / or rhythmic accompaniment
- display at all times a professional and enthusiastic attitude
The ideal candidate has two years of teaching experience. Dance Certification or dance degree a plus. High level to training and background in tumbling and acrobats. Needs to be self-motivated, organized, patient, a good communicator.
Starting Date : March 17, 2025
Part-time position with opportunity for additional hours and responsibilities based on growth of the program.
