Summary:

The Sanitation Supervisor will direct and manage all sanitation activities, including leading the team in ensuring the cleaning and sanitizing of the equipment, production floor, and general areas. As the Supervisor of the sanitation department, they will lead, develop, and coach other members of the sanitation department to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures are always followed in accordance with clients policies and customer specifications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs and are not limited to:


· Implement sanitation assurance initiatives and sustain via the use of the MSS program, CIP standard procedures, effective documentation, and effective SSOPs

· Assist the Sanitation Manager in setting standards for maintaining CIP equipment, Sanitation Assurance, Sanitation PM, Continuous improvements, and Cost optimization programs

· Staff, lead, and schedule sanitarians and janitors in accordance with plant schedules and needs. Ensure onboarding and routine training are being effectively completed and all sanitation employees are proficient in SSOPs, policies/procedures, chemical handling, and all other safety and job-related requirements.

· Collaborate with production, production scheduling, quality, and maintenance to ensure the sanitation schedule is in place and effectively utilized.

· Support plant sanitation in the effective use of chemicals, CIP cleaning processes, Dry Sanitation processes, Environmental sanitation, and Sanitary design.

· Ensure sanitation cycle-time reductions, extended cleaning request validations, sanitation chemical cost reductions, and sanitation assurance/effectiveness programs are regularly monitored and improvement efforts identified and implemented in conjunction with the sanitation manager.

· Investigate sanitation gaps and improvement opportunities to ensure sustained results for clean equipment swabs, Pathogen and Environmental Monitoring, and any other root cause investigations needed for customer or consumer complaints and/or audit findings.

· Assist sanitation manager in working with 3rd party providers and others to maximize technical expertise, optimize supplier products, information, and equipment, research new cleaning technologies and techniques, and coordinate trials.

· Collaborate with other departments within the company on various sanitation initiatives to ensure sanitary design objectives have been met.

· Provide recommendations for equipment and machinery-based change as it relates to sanitation.

· Assist the Sanitation Manager in managing a sanitation budget to include cost & control of sanitation labor, materials, equipment, and other necessary items.

· Work with quality, production, and maintenance departments on planning and executing projects and process improvement plans.

· Lead sanitation technicians’ activities with strong emphasis placed on employee development, performance expectations, and ensuring proper training as it relates to their job function.

· Ensure fast reaction & responses to sanitation calls to minimize downtime.

· In collaboration with the sanitation manager: oversee, review, and modify sanitation programs to improve cleaning efficiency & determine labor standards

· Actively participate in all plant safety, health, and environmental initiatives

· Incorporate and support GMPs and plant cleanliness among all plant personnel.

· Verify the daily sanitation paperwork and filing of records. Keeps all sanitation records and Standard Operating Procedures current. Verify effectiveness / inspect what is expected on a routine basis to ensure effective work accompanies documentation.

· Ensure all customer specifications are being met as it relates to sanitation and are in compliance with proper regulations.

· Assist in company audits and any corrective actions that may arise.


Education, Training, & Experience:

· Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all phases of sanitation, facility upkeep, equipment sanitation/maintenance to include chemicals, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, and State and Federal sanitation requirements.

· Strong knowledge of all governmental regulations concerning the operations, e.g. OSHA, FDA, HAACP, GFSI, as well as good manufacturing practices and good sanitation practices for food processing facilities

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other supervisors, managers, clients, and customers,

· Personal computer skills to include spreadsheet software and word processing software (MS Word & Excel).

· Proven competency in supervisory activities that require conflict management, developing subordinates, directing subordinates, managing and measuring performance, motivating, building team spirit and morale, and understanding diverse viewpoints.

• Standing/Walking up to 100% of shift schedule

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
