The Lower School Spanish Teacher will inspire students to explore, learn, and appreciate the Spanish language through engaging learning experiences and encourage active student participation through interactive lessons and activities.
She / he will stay current with educational research and trends in world language teaching as well as participate in ongoing professional development opportunities. The ideal candidate will be able to plan and implement curriculum using current methodologies and collaborate with others to create a cohesive curriculum across the division.

Requirements and Necessary Skills :
- Fluent Spanish speaker
- Knowledge of current best practices in elementary world language education
- Strong commitment to students’ progress and social-emotional well-being
- Maintains a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and a love for learning
- Utilizes immersive teaching practices to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment
- Displays professionalism, flexible thinking, and respect for diversity
- Desire to actively collaborate in department, faculty, and team planning and learning meetings
- Desire to be self-reflective, learn, and grow
- Positive approach to challenging situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Spanish and / or elementary education; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years applicable teaching experience preferred
