General Description
The Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute invites applications for a Research Associate position in the areas of ophthalmic clinical trials and research methodology. The Research Associate will join the team of a coordinating center for multicenter clinical research in ophthalmology and of the Wilmer Biostatistics Center. The team includes faculty and staff with expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, ophthalmology, clinical trials, programmers, project coordinators and administrative personnel. The team is recognized for its capacity of initiating, designing and conducting ophthalmic clinical trials and of training research methodologies to the vision research field.
Primary duties of the faculty Research Associate include day-to-day management on research and administrative activities at the Coordinating Center of an NIH sponsored multicenter international clinical trial on eye disease. The Research Associate has a pivotal role in the Coordinating Center as the supervisor of overall quality assurance activities and Coordinating Center activities and plays an important role in facilitating an efficient, collaborative work environment at the Coordinating Center and facilitating professional and collaborative communications with clinical sites and other study units. Other duties of the position include supporting data management and analysis activities at the Coordinating Center and the Wilmer Biostatistics Center.

Salary Range
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in a field of quantitative science.
- At least 2 years of research experience in an academic institution and in areas related to public health or clinical research.
- Proficiency in at least one statistical software such as R, Stata, or SAS.
- Experience with eye research projects as evidenced by publications and/or presentations in ophthalmology
- A strong team player and have excellent writing and communication skills.
