What are the responsibilities and job description for the Budtender position at The Joint Seattle?
We are a high volume dispensary located in the heart of the U District in Seattle looking to add budtenders to our team. Though our store may be small our client base is quiet large. You will deal with customers from all walks of life and with differening levels of marijuana knowledge. Your job is to be familiar with our inventory and help customers select products as well as answer questions related to merchandise, vendors, laws, etc. Our ideal candidate would be motivated to work, have strong attention to detail, and be customer oriented. All of our shift leads are hired from within so there are opportunities to advance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Checking ID's
- Help customers find products
- Regular/Accurate cash handling
- Organizing product
- Restocking the floor
- General cleaning
- Keeping a level-head in high stress situations
- Uphold all house policies and LCB laws
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to be on your feet for most of your shift
- Previous cannabis knowledge (Preferred)
- Familiar with i502 laws (Preferred)
- Attention to detail is a must
- 21 yrs of age with valid ID
- Open availability (looking for weekends and nights)
Other qualities we look for: Cannabis based knowledge, good attitude, charisma, ability to absorb and convey new knowledge, initiative, professionalism, accountability, and a flexible schedule.
Typical duties include: ID checks, cash handling, engaging with customers, learning about cannabis product, answering phones, stocking, cleaning and labeling.
The Budtender is responsible for taking orders from guests in a timely manner while providing outstanding guest service and demonstrating advanced product knowledge. This position will also assist guests on the floor of the shop not just behind the register, interacting with guests and building long-lasting relationships.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- At least one (1) year of retail, hospitality or other customer service-focused industry experience.
- Experience working in cannabis a plus!
- High degree of detail orientation and a proven track record of working within strict compliance requirements
- Open schedule availability

This is a part-time, position that may work a varied schedule, including days, nights, weekends, weekdays and holidays, based on business need.
